Anyone else feeling like they need some vitamin D in their life? This “spring” weather we’ve been having in southern Ontario has been less than motivating this year! Inspired by the need for some sunshine and positivity after a long, cold winter- the idea of an elegant wedding held in a rustic setting sparked so much excitement for this summer-weather-lover. I was inspired by a floral invitation design (that stuck out to me during a Pinterest binge). I instantly knew I had to roll with a floral theme! I wanted to create a romantic, whimsical vibe in a rustic setting that didn't come across too stuffy. The idea was to show down- to- earth couples real wedding inspiration that is not at all out of reach (or budget) to create. The rustic elegance of this venue made it easy to pull this shoot together and accomplish this style goal. The exposed beams allowed us to get creative and add some height to our table-scape by hanging beautiful gold lanterns from it, while the greenery and florals we added to all of our sets really brought the theme to life. Colours of burgundy, blush, cream and gold with pops of navy blue add excitement to the blank slate that is this gorgeous barn. My two favourite parts of this venue are the unique ceremony space, which is a staircase overlooking what used to be a cattle trough, and the upstairs barn loft turned "bridal suite". We had so much fun bringing this vision to life and are so excited to share these beautiful, moody, photos from Durand Studios!
I had the idea for a barn- style photo shoot on my mind for a few months before we actually put one together and I’ll be honest- this dreary weather is what helped me come up with the garden-inspired theme you will see in this shoot. This amazing team of vendors brought colour and positivity to Willow Lane Farms on this fun day in early May- and shockingly- we ACTUALLY had sunshine and warmth on our side! Before we get to the gorgeous photos, I would like to give a huge shout out to a wonderful team of vendors who put so much love into this day!
Our venue and host- Willow Lane Farm (special thanks to their on site coordinator, Brooke), beautiful photography by Durand Studios, amazing floral design by Floral and Brick, cake by the insanely talented CravingsBB, Catering from Cater Me Please, gorgeous stationery by Pretty In Print Invitations, on-trend rentals from Boutique Linen Rentals and Imagine White Design, a breathtaking dress from Bella Mia Bridal and my even more breathtaking bestie, Kelly, modelling it.
A lovely day full of creativity, lots of laughs and a maybe a few bottles of rose! Take a peek and let us know what you think!
