The day has arrived, you’ve been working hard over the past few months to finalize details. Vendors are rolling in- flowers are here, hair and makeup are done, photographer is in place. The Groom and Groomsmen are suiting up… UH OH! the boutonnieres… how do we attach them to our suits without them falling off halfway through the ceremony? I can’t even count on two hands the amount of times this happens as the wedding party is getting ready so it’s good to be somewhat prepared!
These steps are actually very easy and for the most part you will be able to find someone who can take on this task- a mother, a grandmother or your wedding coordinator. However, if you want to look like you know what you’re doing or want to be able to offer a hand to the others, follow these steps and you will look like a pro!
Boutonniere is always placed on the left lapel of the person wearing it
Hold boutonniere over button hole
Insert two corsage pins from the back of lapel in and out of the stem, one going up and one going down (it will look like an X)
There you have it, A securely fastened boutonniere with no visible pins
Follow this diagram for a better visual
Now you can proudly say you know how to pin a boutonniere!
